Chye Toole-Anstey

Chye Toole-Anstey is lecturer in Social Work at the University of Wollongong. Threading Chye’s academic and practice work is a strong value of social justice and working with people. Chye completed a PhD exploring child to parent violence, including mothers’ stories of and practitioners’ responses to the violence. Chye draws on 15 years of practice experience in working within the community sector in her research. Chye views social work teaching and research as a way to work with people to enact social work. Chye has worked in a range of fields including with refugees, community development, young people experiencing the impacts of cancer, and advocacy/policy. With collaborative and storied methodologies, Chye continues to research child to parent violence, as well as family violence, pedagogy, and young people.
